Being a Kindle app developer is in interesting business right now. And, due to the terms of the beta, there's not much more that can be said about it. However I think its reasonable to observe that so far it appears that no Kindle "Active Content" apps have been released that use the internet. Our first app, Maze A Thon, was just released in the Amazon store and we purposefully chose the Kindle vs the alternatives because we thought it was a good device for puzzles. We'd love to do other apps, like a good feed reader or twitter browser or similar, because the Kindle would be excellent, but Amazon is definitely facing some understandably interesting decisions in that realm.

The Kindle also changed the way I read -- I can now read big heavy books in bed with ease. But for reading a book, the Kindle is absolutely perfect. An appliance does just one thing, and it does it well.I m not having any idea that people can pay for a blog but i always enjoy reading blogs

I would love to see a general rss feed function. Blogs, podcasts and other short things are just what I could access and read without turning on the computer. My kindle stays in my purse or close by me, so I use it by the pool, when waiting for kids for various activities etc. Just the right amount of time for a blog or podcast. and I have no intention of paying for a blog when I can access it on the computer for free!

I am perhaps a little behind here. I knew of a couple of free rss-software applications for the computer which linked to the kindle. I was unaware of people actually paying for blogs. I enjoy reading various blogs, but I would never pay for the privilege. People really do this?

But these are the sorts of issues any vendor is going to have to deal with when they open their device to developers. Apple has been trying to shut down Google Voice b/c it infringes on base functionality of the iPhone. Amazon will either have to come up with their own branded RSS reader or someone else will.
